Bike Safety Programme

What an awesome three weeks of bike safety the children in the senior school have had! 

A week of in-depth learning about a bicycle, then riding around the school. Lastly, a ride around our streets. What a revelation - the number of children who have beautiful bikes but can't ride them well enough to be on the road. What a good thing to have done and now I see the need for school bike paths as we are planning to establish.

Voyager with Vikram Murthy

An amazingly interesting day spent on Day 1 of the Voyager course with Vikram Murthy.

A day on ourselves - how often do teachers do that? - a day of looking at our own strengths and capabilities. Some very interesting online and paper assessments were used to analyse our strengths and if we were actually utilising them. 

Then some goal setting - Are we doing what we want to do? Where are we going? Do we love what we do? All questions worthy of reflection.

The Leader In Me - Professional Learning

What an interesting beginning to Teacher Only Day and  2017!

We all read the book with a view to considering this implementation into our school instead of our

rather unsuccessful values and religious instruction programmes.

We had Brent Griffith and his team come and introduce The Leader in Me as they are a certified school (Western Heights Primary)

An awesome albeit costly programme. The 90 minute video was really informative.
